The Beginning of Matte Blue Coffee Packaging

We’ve been known for our signature matte blue coffee packaging for years in the coffee industry. You may notice some changes on our retail rack, we have introduced three different colours for our coffee bean packaging.

Many of our customers have asked why. What’s the difference? Are they different roast profiles? Blends or single origins?

Since we first started selling our in-house roasted coffee beans, we’ve put effort not only into roasting, but also into packaging that maintains the freshness and quality of the coffee inside the bag. For the coffee itself, each coffee is carefully chosen through blind cupping sessions by our team. To avoid bias or stereotypes about coffee characteristics, we comment on and score each cup based purely on cup quality before revealing the farm or origin for purchasing decisions.

For this matte blue selection, we prepare beans that scores 86 or above, while appreciating the beauty of each origin and curating them into an approachable, everyday cup.

Over the years, we’ve discovered many hidden gems on origins and varietals of great quality that haven’t been widely showcased. Through this process, both our customers and our team have come to appreciate the farmers’ hard work and their sincere commitment to improving quality at the farm level.

In 2023, when we first became directly involved in coffee plantations and processing, more questions began to arise within ourselves. How can we create healthier and more sustainable farming practices? What actions can we take to fully express the unique character of each coffee?

The Whole New Series

Through many experiments and new explorations, we’ve discovered a new direction in our selection. To better showcase different series of our roasted coffee beans, we now presents three distinct collections:

• Classic Selection (Matte Blue Packaging):

  A sincere selection by the Sweet Blossom team, simple and good coffees that highlight the character of each origin and varietal.

  
  

• Premium Selection (Matte Green Packaging):

  Appreciation of rare varietals or award-winning lots, expressing the elegance that comes from meticulous care.

  
  

• Exclusive Selection (Matte Beige Gold Packaging):

  Unique or proprietary lots that cannot be found elsewhere, specially prepared for Sweet Blossom.

While the matte blue Classic Selection remains at our core, we continue to explore undiscovered great coffees. The matte green Premium Selection is our path towards higher aiming coffees, allowing us to explore how coffee practices and quality are evolving, this range often leads the industry forward. Finally, the matte beige gold Exclusive Selection tells a story, it is usually prepared with coffees from our friends’ farm, shaped by our hard work and passion together, in time, this selection will also feature the harvest from our own coffee trees.

We are on a journey of plantation improvement and sustainable coffee processing, aiming to bring more unique experiences, and to keep inspiring the next generation to discover new possibilities in coffee.
