ABOUT GALANO

This lot of coffee comes from the high-altitude Galano washing station in Goro Bedessa, a part of Hambela Wamena, at 2350 metres above sea level. Named "Galano" to symbolise elegance, it's a product of the collective effort of 76 local farmers with mostly traditional farming methods. Often intercropping coffee with food crops to efficiently use land and sustain their families, these practices naturally lead to organic farming.

The unique conditions at such altitudes produce coffee of exceptional quality, enhancing Guji's reputation for premium coffee beans. In the Guji region, known for its abundant rainfall and steep, mountainous terrain, coffee beans thrive, creating a perfect environment for the unique and high-quality profiles. This area, once grouped with neighbouring Sidamo and Yirgachefe regions, is now celebrated for its unique coffee varieties, gaining international acclaim.
